Off to Iraq

No! Our home team isn't heading off to Iraq but our
first 'Buddy Boxes' in 2011 are packed and ready
for shipping to Iraq. But let's start at the beginning!

Last night everyone arrived with bags filled with everything
needed to fill our first 5 boxes for this year. We hope to fill
and ship boxes every month to service men and/or women
who don't receive packages from home.

We start every Friday evening together with food
and fellowship. So last night before packing our
boxes, we enjoyed a nice pot luck supper together.

After a short celebration that I'll post about at
another time, we sorted out all of the supplies
everyone purchased and we were almost ready.

Do these pictures remind you of past postings
when we pack for Operation Christmas Child?
I wish that you could see and experience the
fun we have doing this.

While we packed boxes, Charlie cleaned up his
kitchen. He really is the BEST!

With the boxes packed, and I mean packed, they
were ready for the final touch before the boxes
were closed and sealed for shipping.

Inside each box we send a Thank You from our group!
We each write a personal note and include our blogspot
address hoping to hear back from the service member
who receives their very own Buddy Box!

I have to admit, it's always exciting to know the person
who is receiving the box! The first Buddy Box of 2011
is being shipped to SGT Tyler Hackett (Pastor Paul and
Ann's son-in-law) who is serving in Iraq!

We are thankful for the sacrifice and service of the
brave American  men and women stationed around the
world!

  1. You guys are awesome! It looks like you packed lots of goodies in there. Thank you displaying God's love in a tangible way to the servicemen. Tyler will really love all of those goodies.
